Hi, I'm Martin Ueding; physicist, software developer for high-performance computing, machine learner, cyclist,
illustrator, walker, and blogger. Currently, I write mostly about drawing and DIY stuff, sometimes also about
transportation policy, science, or machine learning. You can find my drawings in the drawing gallery.
I started programming at a fairly early age and write about it in the “Code & Numbers” section. While studying
physics, I specialized into computational physics, and my study materials are still part of this website. After
completing my doctorate, I switched to business.
Since graduating from high school, I have been getting around by bike, going on bike tours and, at some point,
bike trips. Over time, I learned more and more about bicycle infrastructure and advocated for improvements to
local authorities. I was active in the Bonn Bicycle Referendum
from 2021 to 2023. Currently, however, I am rather disillusioned because, despite my best efforts, I was
ultimately unable to achieve much of substance.
