In dem Buch1, das ich über JavaScript gelesen habe, stand explizit drin, dass man sich von den Merkwürdigkeiten fernhalten sollte und das schwache Typsystem nicht provozieren soll. Dann wäre es eigentlich gar nicht so schlimm. Davon konnte ich auch Abstand nehmen. Dass 2 * '2' dann 4 ergibt, aber 2 + '2' als Ergebnis '22' hat, ist halt so. Es gibt Konvertierungsregeln, und man sollte es halt lassen.
Last year I still used Google Photos, but eventually said goodbye. One of the reasons was that one cannot organize the library in a meaningful way via external scripts. The web user interface lacks functionality, and I cannot write a script to help out.
I've used Firefox quite some time, at least since 2009, likely longer. And I've liked the browser. It seemed to have better quality than competitors. When Chrome came out, I was tempted to switch. But I didn't want to let Google have all my data. It was sufficient that they had my address book and calendar, control over my phone and whatnot. My browing history was going to stay with me.

Over the years I have been using content creation software which had a clear separation of a source and a rendered output. This has been LaTeX for scientific documents, Markdown and reStructuredText for computer documentation. I also use Markdown for my notes with Ghostwriter or Obsidian. I have also used GraphViz to create diagrams and graphs. To create 3D models I have used OpenSCAD, which is a programming language for 3D models. When I needed a Wiki, I have used DokuWiki All these software packages let me use the text editor of my choice, version the source code in Git and share it via GitHub. So for me, having a Git repository of Markdown files is the perfect way to create documentation.

Google has this service called Photos where you can just upload photos and have a photo library. They arrange them by date, you can arrange them in albums and also search them. They did not charge anything for the storage and made it very easy to get more pictures online.
