Während des Studiums habe ich nur die Fachbücher gelesen, die mir für das Studium unmittelbar hilfreich erschienen. Romane erschienen mir damals wie eine Zeitverschwendung, ich wollte alle meine »Charakterpunkte« auf das Studium setzen. Rückblickend war das nicht so wirklich clever, weil auch ein Ausgleich wichtig ist. Und diversifizierte Anregung ist sogar förderlich für das Hauptthema, schreibt die Expertin für Biss1.

I've just finished The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Most of the quotes that one finds from him are actually the ramblings of a character, Lord Henry Wotton, who has a bad influence on Dorian Gray. They are so many gems, that I want to reproduce them here.

Characters in “Count Zero”

I just finished reading “Count Zero” by William Gibson. It is the second part of the “Sprawl” trilogy, the first book is “Neuromancer”. I eventually realized that the sheer number of characters is a bit overwhelming for me. So I decided to take notes. There are three story lines going on, and I will list the characters roughly in their order of appearance.

How should I buy my books?

These days one can get a lot of books electronically. I am still not sure whether I prefer books in paper or electronic form. It seems that in principle I prefer electronic books, but the way that one can actually buy them is against my preferences. This is is the crucial distinction that will lead to a conclusion.
